Here in the UK each year Royal Ascot takes place, a series of horse races at Ascot Racecourse which the Queen and members of the royal family attend. The event is just as important for fashionistas as it is for horse race enthusiasts and you would be out of place at Ascot without a beautiful hat. I just love these…so tasteful and yet elegant. I agree there are only a select few places, events I would consider wearing them…which is entirely too bad. But, I will say they are amazing and would definitely receives tons of compliments!
Yeah if only there were more places to wear them, they dress up any outfit instantly. I’m sure you still receive lots of compliments even without the hats 🙂
I really like all the cream ones, especially Debut Light Grey Loop Quill Hair Piece from Debenhams – really lovely! I’m not one to wear hats as I always feel like I don’t look good in them, but I love seeing them on other people. It always looks so chic and feminine! Will you be attending this event?
That one is really lovely, it looks like a bow. I don’t really wear hats either, their very eye-catching and make me self-conscious but I’m the same as you in that I love seeing them on other people. No I’m not going to Royal Ascot, maybe one year but not 2013 🙂
Great ascots. I envy you because you can wear that even in different occasions. Here in the Philippines we can wear that for special occasions or summer days in a formal parties only.
You can only really wear them to special occassions here as well, you wouldn’t wear one to go shopping or out for coffee or anything. It’s a shame hats aren’t more popular x
