I do.

Seriously, my dreams AMAZE me. Last night my brain decided to insert details a-plenty into my dream.

I was reading text messages in my dream. They made perfect sense and my mobile phone was perfectly detailed, the odd thing was that everything that was so detailed in my dream was old. The mobile I was reading text messages on was an old mobile that I haven’t used in 3 years. I was sitting at a bus stop in a place that I haven’t visited in forever, and I was talking to old friends that I haven’t been in touch with since primary school. It was so odd.

Although my mobile was perfectly detailed,it was the text messages that really surprised me , there I was just sitting at the bus stop scrolling through old messages, I can’t remember what they said but when I first woke up they made perfect sense, they weren’t just a random selection of words.

It got me thinking, are such detailed dreams normal? Have you had any wierd details pop up in your dreams? Please share in the comments section.

Once I was speaking perfect french in one of my dreams. Now, I have studied French and have spent time living in France before so this isn’t that surprising but I am nowhere near fluent in french and yet there I was happily conversing away and saying things that I don’t actually know how to say. Maybe the dream tricked me into thinking I was speaking perfect french, I mean how can I tell? However I really did feel like my sleeping self was fluent in french, even if it was only for one night.

What about ideas? Do any of you get great ideas from dreams? I have had a few dreams that have really inspired me, I like to write fiction and have had a few plot lines come directly from dreams and oddly enough it only seems to happen when I haven’t been writing in a while, as if my brain is telling me to get back to work.

I got quite curious after my dream this morning and did some research so here is some information about dreams that you may find interesting :

Children do not appear in their own dreams until the age of 3 or 4.

Birth order among siblings affects how they dream , first born females are usually more agressive while first born males usually see themselves in a better light than their younger brothers.

You can’t snore and dream at the same time.

Pregnant women are more likely to remember their dreams.

Children dream about animals more often than adults.

People who quit smoking report more vivid dreams.

The colder your house is, the worse your dreams are.

Strangers in dreams are actually people you have seen in real life as the human brain can’t invent the image of people.

Most people have between 4 and 6 dreams every night.

People who do not dream are likely to develop psychosis.
